Today the Church celebrates the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes.

St. Josemaria Escriva had a deep devotion to Our Lady of Lourdes, going on pilgrimage to her shrine several times during his life. In 1954, while suffering from severe diabetes, he prayed not for healing but for the strength to continue his mission of working with souls. His example reminds us to turn to Mary with faith and perseverance.
