Each month at the St. Josemaria Institute, we highlight the writings of St. Josemaria Escriva to deepen our understanding of his teachings and enrich our daily spiritual reading.
In November, we are highlighting St. Josemaria’s homily, “Christ the King,” from “Christ is Passing By,” no. 179-187.
In this homily on the Solemnity of Christ the King, St. Josemaria teaches that Jesus truly reigns, not politically, but as Lord who brings truth, justice, peace, and joy. His kingdom begins in our hearts through conversion and service: deeds before words, freedom with responsibility, and sanctifying everyday life.
Despite resistance, God’s mercy invites all; our mission is to let Christ rule in us and “drown evil in an abundance of good,” under Mary’s care, until his kingdom is fulfilled.
