PODCAST | St. Joseph: Model of Creative Courage

[ View Transcript ]

Have you ever felt rage or anger over things that are wrong in the world? Go to Joseph…

In this podcast, Fr. Eric Nicolai shares a reflection on the life of St. Joseph and how he sought to choose the good in every circumstance despite the many challenges he faced. He explains that we must seek interior healing from accepting our personal history and embracing those things in life that we cannot change. In doing so, we receive the virtue of creative courage which gives us the grace needed to follow the voice of God and helps us to discern our true good.

Pope Francis explains: “Our lives may at times seem to be at the mercy of the powerful, but the Gospel shows us what counts. God always finds a way to save us, provided we show the same creative courage as the carpenter of Nazareth, who was able to turn a problem into a possibility by trusting always in divine providence” (Patris Corde, no. 5).
