One of the greatest sources of peace in our lives One of the greatest sources of peace in our lives is to become aware that God is always present to us. “We've got to be convinced that God is always near us. We live as though he were far away, in the heavens high above, and we forget that he is also continually by our side. He is there like a loving Father. He loves each one of us more than all the mothers in the world can love their children - helping us, inspiring us, blessing… and forgiving.” (The Way, no. 267). So often, we can live as though God is distant, as though He is far away and removed from our ordinary concerns. Yet St. Josemaria reminds us of a profound truth: God is not far from us. He is present in every moment, walking beside us with the tenderness of a loving Father. Like a child walking hand in hand with a loving father, we can move through each day knowing that we are never alone. As summer draws us toward moments of rest and reflection, take time today to pause and remember: God is here. He is with you. He loves you.
