On June 26, the Church celebrates the liturgical feast day of St. Josemaria Escriva.
An important part of the mission of the St. Josemaria Institute is to support and encourage the celebration of his feast day around the world, especially through the Mass, which is the “principal sacramental celebration of the Church.” The Feast Day and Mass are a great opportunity to invite friends, family, and parish communities to get to know the spirit and life of St. Josemaria Escriva.
Pope St. John Paul II called St. Josemaria, “the saint of ordinary life.” His feast day, therefore, is an opportunity to seek his intercession before God for all the needs and intentions that concern us in our daily lives: challenges of the family, marriage, work, unemployment, sickness, society and culture. We can also turn to him for help in seeking and being faithful to God’s will whatever our state in life: single, married, or celibate.
Whether this may be your first time hosting a celebration or you have hosted feast day celebrations in previous years, we invite you to explore our resources below to aid in your celebration!
