Join the St. Josemaria Institute’s Book of the Month as we unpack a new title and go deeper into our faith and the teachings and spirit of St. Josemaria Escriva each month. This year, on the 50th anniversary of its publishing, our selections explore our theme for 2023: Christ is Passing By. We are also pleased to introduce monthly reading plans to help keep your reading on track as we break down the texts into weekly segments.

March 2023: “Christ is Passing By”

In March, we’re reading and celebrating the 50th anniversary of “Christ is Passing By” by St. Josemaria Escriva.

Originally published in Spanish in March 1973, “Christ is Passing By” is a beloved collection of 18 homilies written by St. Josemaria following the feasts of the liturgical year, from Advent to the Solemnity of Christ the King. His writing demonstrates a careful, loving knowledge of the Word of God that helps readers find the connection between Gospel teachings and the ordinary life of Christians.

The book makes a great spiritual reading companion year-round! But, this month, we’re focusing on the five homilies for the season of Lent and Holy Week.
