As a young boy, St. Josemaria Escriva learned this prayer of spiritual communion, which he prayed throughout his life. He also shared and taught the prayer to thousands of others to help them strengthen their love for the Eucharist:

I wish, my Lord, to receive you with the purity, humility, and devotion with which your most holy Mother received you, with the spirit and fervor of the saints.
