The Strength of Love | A Homily by St. Josemaria Escriva

Let us now consider the Master and his disciples gathered together in the intimacy of the Upper Room. The time of his Passion is drawing close and he is surrounded by those he loves. The fire in the Heart of Christ bursts into flame in a way no words can express and he confides in […]

Detachment | A Homily by St. Josemaria Escriva

Now that we are at the beginning of Holy Week, and so very close to the moment when the Redemption of the whole human race was accomplished on Calvary, it seems to be an especially appropriate time for you and me to reflect on how Our Lord Jesus Christ saved us, and to contemplate this […]

You Have Prepared a Table Before Me: Finding Mercy at Matthew’s Table

At the beginning of Lent, this Gospel teaches us too how to become Christ’s welcome table-fellows. “Heaven: ‘the eye has not seen, nor the ear heard, “Heaven: ‘the eye has not seen, nor the ear heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man to conceive the things that God has prepared for those who love him.’ Don’t these revelations of the Apostle spur you on to fight?”
St. Josemaria Escriva
The Way, no. 751
The Christian life is not a struggle without purpose. We strive because Christ has already won the victory, and He invites us to share in His eternal joy. Every act of charity, every temptation resisted, every prayer offered, and every duty fulfilled with love prepares our hearts for the happiness God desires to give us.
When the path feels difficult, remember what awaits those who remain faithful. Heaven is not merely the end of our journey; it is the promise that gives strength to every step along the way.
