St. Josemaria would invite people to take the Holy Family as their model and also to try their best, with daily self-giving, to make their family life into a foretaste of heaven.
By the mid-1940’s, St. Josemaria Escriva had witnessed the apostolate of Opus Dei, which he founded, beginning to spread throughout Spain and abroad.
At the Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Torreciudad in Spain, to the left of the main altar, is the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament where one is confronted by the Crucifix of Torreciudad— a gift to the shrine from St. Josemaria Escriva.
