Getting to Know God | A Homily by St. Josemaria Escriva

My husband was baptized Catholic, but had never received any of the other sacraments. Though we attended various churches over the years, […]

Stories of Intercession: “Don’t Let Your Life Be Barren. Be Useful.”

By J.R. of Independence, KY The story of my friendship with St. Josemaria is most certainly multi-layered and very detailed, however, I will attempt to tell a part of it as succinctly as possible. “In the Holy Chapel, in the presence of a handful “In the Holy Chapel, in the presence of a handful of people, I quietly celebrated my first Mass.”
On March 30, 1925, St. Josemaria Escriva celebrated his first Mass at the feet of Our Lady of the Pillar—offering it for the repose of his father’s soul and entrusting his priesthood completely to God.
In our featured article, “’Inklings of Love’: The Priestly Ordination and First Mass of St. Josemaria Escriva,” we commemorate this anniversary and reflect on the generous “yes” that shaped his life and mission.
